My life has had its ups and downs. Over the last five years
my life has drastically changed. I’ve finished grad school and went right back,
I fell in love and got married, and I’ve moved three times. I’ve found jobs I
love and have suffered the let down of downsizing and layoffs. I have gained
weight, I have lost weight, and have been every size from a 4 to a 14 in the last two years.
I’ve cried during happy times and I’ve laughed during some
sad ones. I have felt despair and hope. I have questioned God’s will, sinned,
and asked for forgiveness all in the
same day. I’ve given up on religion and began a spiritual journey to become
closer to God.
Through all my ups and down, I’ve held on to the smallest seed
of faith that all my needs would be provided for. So today, I thank the Divine
for all I have been given. And because the lord is my shepherd, I shall not
want.
Stay thankful,
Tranae

DeleteWhat a great post. Loving how you are able to give thanks in all things!
ReplyDeleteLooking back, I can see that even though I didn't get what I wanted, I always got what I needed. This was a hard concept for a spoiled brat like me :)
DeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteThanks
DeleteThis is beautifully written... So many feelings I can identify with as I work to set my eyes on God and his perfect will for me each and every day.
ReplyDeleteI found you through your intro at Life of a Young Momma... An Atlanta girl myself, I knew I had to check you out. So glad I did, and happy to be a new follower!
Yay! Happy to meet another Atlantan
DeleteSuch a timely post. I listened to the song version of the 23 Psalm today on my way to work. You're right, through it all, there's always God.
ReplyDeleteI Didn't know there was a song version. I will have to check that out.
DeleteBeautiful reflections...thank you for sharing them with us. I've always loved the imagery of Psalm 23. We are so helpless, and He is so patient, kind, and loving! Just beautiful. So nice to "meet" you!
ReplyDeleteVery true. Psalm 23 is my favorite.
DeleteThis is so true. In all of life's ups and downs, there is only one constant and that is God. We may waver, sin, praise and falter all in the same day, but He is still faithful. It's nice to know that no matter what changes, storms or hurdles we face, God is our shepherd.
