A couple of weekends ago, some friends and I attended a pole
dancing & booty shaking class. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a
while so I was so excited. In my mind, I was going to turn heads. Well we did.
You see…our little group of “wanna be bad girls” came with stretch pants/ thigh length short
& tanks. We thought we look
stripper(ish) enough. We were wrong. When the other class let out, the “mega
wanna-be dancers” showed us we were clearly overdressed. One girl even giggled
at us and said we had on too much. We didn’t get the memo that it was okay to
dress like a stripper in pole dancing class. Who knew?
Anywho…I had a blast and learned something new. Pole dancing has many benefits. But, since I'm no expert at pole dancing (yet), I
thought I would get the fabulous folks at Poleista to share some reason to get
up on that pole.
Take it away, Carolyn!
10 great reasons to try pole dancing
If you’re looking for a new way to get a brilliant workout
that’s also great fun, why not give pole dancing a go? More and more women are
discovering that it’s a fantastic alternative to the gym. The team from Poleista share 10 reasons why you should
give pole dancing a go, the areas of your body that it can target and some of
the changes you can expect to see as a result of regular sessions on the pole.
Dance yourself happy
Exercise is a natural anti-depressant, and pole dancing is
no different. Spending some time on the pole can leave you full of positive
energy and ready to face life’s challenges with a fresh outlook.
Improve your poise
and grace
As well as increasing your strength and confidence, pole
dancing can teach you to become more comfortable with your body and gain a
strong awareness of how your body is moving. You will find yourself walking
around with grace and elegance.
Make new friends
Pole dancing classes offer a fun and friendly atmosphere,
making them great places for making new friends. If you’re a bit nervous of
going along to your first session alone, why not ask your friends to go along
with you for a fun night out?
Unleash your inner
sex goddess
Perhaps unsurprisingly, many aspiring pole dancers find that
their sessions can help them spice things up in the bedroom. Your partner will
love your newfound confidence and will be more than happy for you to
demonstrate your moves!
Trimmed and toned
thighs
The legs and thighs are often a troublesome area for women,
but pole dancing can provide a solution. Many ladies enjoy wearing killer heels
during a pole dancing class. Not only does this help you to look the part and
feel more confident, but you’ll actually be giving your legs a great workout.
Killer abs
Pole dancing can give you the amazing abs that you’ve always
dreamed of. And it’s so much more fun than hours of boring sit ups!
Amazing arms
Are you a bit self-conscious of your flabby arms? During
your pole dancing sessions you’ll find that you’re using your arms a lot to
support your body, and this can have fantastic results for the overall look,
tone and strength of your arms.
Fantastic fat burning
Pole dancing is a wonderful cardiovascular workout. You can
burn in excess of 300 calories per hour and it can also increase your
metabolism. Combined with a sensible diet, you’ll soon be on track to achieving
your dream body.
Improved self-confidence
Low self-confidence is sadly something that many women
suffer from. Pole dancing allows you to let go of your inhibitions and be the
sexy, beautiful woman you are without judgment.
Increase your
flexibility
Your pole dancing session will involve working the whole
body. The ability to do splits, backbends, and other awesome feats are necessary
to do some of the more advanced moves. Even as a beginner, dancing regularly
will show increases in your body's flexibility, range of motion, balance and
coordination.
With pole dancing providing such a fantastic way to workout
your entire body whilst having a great time, why not give it a go and start
reaping the benefits?
